Toddle is a teaching and learning platform for K-12 schools, made by Teacher Tools Private Limited. It covers curriculum maps, unit and lesson planning, assessments and a gradebook, student portfolios, progress reports, attendance and messaging. It is best known in IB schools, and Toddle also sells versions set up for the English National Curriculum, Cambridge, Australian and US district schools.

Who it’s for

Toddle fits IB schools first. If your PYP team plans units of inquiry together, tracks the programme of inquiry across year groups and wants student work tagged to the same standards the planner uses, Toddle handles that with little adaptation. Its MYP setup includes guided workflows for the Personal Project, Community Project and Service as Action, and Toddle says it connects to IBIS for exam registration and coursework submission.

It also suits international and independent schools that want one system for planning, portfolios and reports instead of four separate tools. Toddle also has an IB Candidate option for schools working towards authorisation.

A school that only needs to set and collect homework will find it heavy. Google Classroom does that with far less setup.

What it does well

The main reason schools pick Toddle is that the pieces connect. A teacher writes a unit plan, attaches assessments to it, and the results flow into the gradebook. Photos, videos and written work go into the student’s portfolio, tagged to standards or IB criteria. At the end of term, the report card template pulls from the gradebook and portfolio, so a homeroom teacher writing 25 PYP reports is not copying evidence from three places.

Curriculum leads get maps and coverage analytics. A PYP coordinator can check the balance of the programme of inquiry and see which standards each grade has covered, which helps when preparing for an IB evaluation visit.

Families get their own app, and Toddle recommends it over the mobile browser. Parents see portfolio posts and messages from teachers. Students and educators also have iOS and Android apps, and the creative tools for drawing and recording work only in the apps, not in a phone browser.

Toddle connects to Google and Microsoft tools, to student information systems such as PowerSchool and Veracross, and to Clever and Turnitin.

The AI tools cover unit drafting, assignment building, feedback suggestions, report comment drafts and AI tutors for students. A teacher can ask for a first draft of an MYP unit and then edit it.

Where it falls short

Toddle takes setup. Someone has to load the curriculum framework, configure report templates, connect the SIS and agree on how portfolios will be tagged. Without that, teachers find an empty planner and give up. Plan the rollout before the start of a school year, using something like our LMS rollout plan.

The breadth can also clash with what a school already owns. If you use a SIS for attendance and reports and an LMS for assignments, Toddle will duplicate parts of both. Decide which system owns each job before you buy, or teachers will end up entering marks twice.

The most promoted AI features sit in the top plan. AI tutors, AI-assisted grading and AI-written progress reports are only in Toddle Ultimate, so a school on a lower tier pays for planning and portfolios without them.

Pricing

Toddle does not publish prices. As of November 2026 its pricing page lists three plans. Planning Pro covers curriculum maps and unit and lesson planning. Advanced adds assessments, the gradebook, portfolios, reports, attendance and messaging. Ultimate adds the AI tutors, AI grading and behaviour management. Toddle says each plan has tiered pricing based on the number of users, offers discounts on two- and three-year contracts and runs free trials of two to three weeks. There is no free plan. For what to include in a budget beyond the licence, see our guide to the total cost of school software.

Privacy and data

Toddle runs on AWS and says it offers data residency in several regions, including the US, Europe, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, the UAE and China. Its privacy hub lists SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, ISO 27017, ISO 27018 and ISO 42001 certifications, plus ST4S in Australia. It states compliance with COPPA, FERPA, GDPR and several national laws, and says it signs data processing agreements with schools in the EU, EEA and Switzerland.

Toddle says it never uses school data to train AI models, pseudonymises any interaction with a third-party model, and holds AI providers to zero-retention terms. Its privacy policy says it shows no ads in its services. Toddle says it deletes school data after a contract ends, within the period set in the agreement, and schools can export data before leaving. Check these claims against our student data privacy checklist and ask for the reports during procurement.

Verdict

Toddle is one of the strongest options for IB schools that want planning, portfolios and reports in one connected system, and its published certifications are among the most complete we have seen. It pays off when a coordinator owns the setup and the school commits to using it for reporting. Schools outside the IB that only need assignments should look at Google Classroom or Canvas, and DP-heavy schools should compare it with ManageBac.
