Campus Virtual is the learning management system made by Educativa, a company founded in 1998 in Rosario, Argentina. Educativa also has an office in Alcalá de Henares, Spain, and says its platforms are used by more than 600 organisations in 13 countries. Campus Virtual hosts courses with content, assessments, forums, grades and certificates, and Educativa runs the hosting for each customer. In Argentina it is best known for running the Red INFD, the platform network of the national Instituto Nacional de Formación Docente, which Educativa says reaches more than 1.2 million users across over 1,100 platforms.

Who it’s for

Campus Virtual suits institutes, teacher training colleges, school networks and secondary schools that want their own branded campus, many users and a supplier that handles the servers. Educativa’s client list includes private schools in Argentina such as Colegio Parque España and Colegio Maristas de Rosario, next to professional associations, government bodies and companies.

It is a weaker fit for a primary school. The product speaks the language of training programmes, with participants, certificates and course catalogues, and a class of eight-year-olds needs something simpler, such as Google Classroom. The product page doesn’t list attendance registers, report cards or family accounts either, so a school still needs a management system such as Acadeu for office work.

What it does well

Course building is guided. A wizard walks the teacher through creating a course, and the editor needs no HTML. Courses take video, PDF, SCORM packages, H5P activities and embedded YouTube, Vimeo or Prezi material. Prerequisites (correlatividades) can lock a unit until the student finishes an earlier one, which helps a secondary department that wants students to work through a sequence at home.

Assessment covers more than most schools need. Educativa lists more than 15 question types, automatic marking with a weight per question, a reusable question bank, AIKEN import for question files and remote exam supervision through Proctorizer. Grades can be numeric, letter-based or by category, and teachers can export them to Excel or PDF. Forums can be graded, students can post audio or video replies, and there are wikis, group spaces and a portfolio where each student collects evidence for teachers to assess.

The mobile app for iOS and Android syncs with the web campus, sends notifications about new content, deadlines, messages and grades, and lets students download material to study offline. That matters in areas where students have patchy mobile data. Video classes connect through Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Blackboard Collaborate, and recordings stay in the course. Sign-in works with SAML 2.0 and OAuth, including Google Workspace and Active Directory, so students can use the accounts the school already gives them.

The pricing model is simple to budget for. Educativa charges one monthly fee with no limit on users, courses or storage, and the fee includes installation, initial training for administrators and teachers, the help desk and updates.

Where it falls short

Most of the site is written for companies and training providers. Educativa sells a separate talent management product, Humantia, and its client list mixes schools with banks and manufacturers. A school will have to translate the product into its own needs, and should ask to see a campus that a school, not a company, set up.

Campus Virtual includes EduGPT, an AI assistant for students, and a tutor that answers questions from each course’s material. Educativa doesn’t say on its site which AI model powers them or what happens to students’ questions. Decide whether students may use them, and under what rules, before you switch them on. Our guide to writing an AI policy for schools helps with that.

The product page makes no accessibility claim against WCAG, and installing the platform on the school’s own servers isn’t a standard option. Educativa sells direct with no resellers, so you depend on one company for the software, hosting and support.

Pricing

Educativa doesn’t publish prices. It quotes a flat monthly fee per organisation after a demo or a request for a budget, and extras such as content production, custom development and integrations are quoted separately. Ask for the fee for your number of campuses and what export you get if you leave.

Privacy and data

Educativa’s privacy policy, last updated in February 2026, covers its website. It describes contact forms and cookies, including Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA, and mentions the GDPR for users in the European Union. It doesn’t mention Argentina’s data law, Ley 25.326, and it doesn’t describe how Educativa handles student data inside a school’s campus. The product page says Educativa hosts campuses on cloud infrastructure with constant monitoring and daily backups, but doesn’t say where.

Educativa says it holds ISO 9001:2015 quality certification from Bureau Veritas and ISO 14001. Neither covers information security. Ask for a data processing agreement, the hosting country and a written answer on how the AI tools process student data.

Verdict

Campus Virtual is a mature LMS with a flat fee, strong assessment tools and an offline mobile app, and a long record with Argentine teacher training. It suits secondary schools, institutes and networks that want a supplier to run everything. Primary schools, and schools that need public privacy and security documentation before they buy, should compare it with Moodle or Google Classroom first.
