Infinite Campus is a student information system for US K-12 districts. It covers enrollment, attendance, behavior, scheduling, the teacher grade book, report cards, transcripts, health records and state and federal reporting. Families use the Campus Parent app and students use Campus Student, both on iOS and Android, and the same information is available in a web portal. The company is owned by its employees through an employee stock ownership plan, and it says it has no outside investors.

Who it’s for

Infinite Campus fits districts that want one vendor for most of their student data, from the enrollment office to the classroom. Small rural districts and large ones both run it, as long as the district has at least one person who owns the system and gets properly trained on it.

It is a US product. Infinite Campus describes itself as focused on US education, and its reporting tools, such as Civil Rights Data Collection reports and state and federal program tracking, follow US rules. Canadian school boards and international schools should look elsewhere.

What it does well

The core product covers a lot without third-party systems. Next to attendance and grading, the administration tools include health office records, a Medicaid log, free and reduced-price meal applications, special education (the features vary by state), response to intervention and personalized learning plans. On the instruction side, the grade book handles standards-based and conventional grading, with seating charts, score copying and student course recommendations for the scheduling season.

The family apps are a strong point. Districts use Campus Parent to show grades, attendance, schedules, assignments, fees and school notices, and parents can set alerts for new grades and attendance changes. District help pages note that grades appear in the app as soon as the teacher posts them. Students see their own work in Campus Student, so they can check a grade or a missing assignment without emailing the teacher.

Infinite Campus says it builds its products in-house instead of growing through acquisitions. It supports Ed-Fi, SIF and OneRoster, and lists integrations with learning platforms including Canvas, Schoology and Google Classroom, so rosters and grades can move between the SIS and the LMS.

Where it falls short

Setup and upkeep need trained staff. Attendance codes, grading tasks, report card layouts and state reporting fields all need configuring, and setup mistakes tend to show up months later as a rejected state submission or a report card that prints the wrong standards. Budget time for training before go-live and again when staff change.

Many of the tools districts want are paid add-ons. Infinite Campus sells online registration, payments, food service point of sale, messaging by voice, text and email, analytics, workflow tools for attendance and hall passes, and its Campus Learning LMS as separate products. Before you compare Infinite Campus with a competitor, list which of these you need, and make sure both quotes include them.

What families see depends on district settings. Some districts turn on fees and documents in Campus Parent and others do not, and district help pages warn that the information displayed varies. That is a district decision, but your parent communication plan should say which features you use, so families who move from a neighboring district are not confused.

Pricing

Infinite Campus does not publish prices. Districts buy a subscription on a quote, and the add-on products cost extra. Ask how the quote is calculated, what the base subscription includes, and what implementation and training cost in the first year. Our guide to choosing a student information system covers the questions to ask during a demo and when comparing quotes.

Privacy and data

Infinite Campus says it runs SOC 2 Type 2 audits, vulnerability assessments and penetration tests, and that it follows federal and state privacy laws including FERPA and COPPA. Ask for the SOC 2 report during procurement. Its security page does not mention advertising.

In June 2026, attackers got into the company’s Salesforce environment and leaked records tied to about 137,000 school staff accounts, according to reporting by eSecurity Planet. The exposed fields included names, email addresses, phone numbers, usernames and support ticket details. Infinite Campus said its student information databases were not affected and that it notified the people involved. Staff contact details are useful for phishing, so remind staff to be careful with unexpected messages that mention Infinite Campus.

Verdict

Infinite Campus is a strong choice for a US district that wants attendance, grading, scheduling, reporting and family apps in one system and has staff to configure it. Budget for the add-ons you will need, because the base subscription does not cover them. Canadian schools should look at PowerSchool SIS, and small private schools that want a lighter system may find Infinite Campus more than they need.
